Thaita factory is owned by Inoi Farmers' Cooperative Society, and it is located on the foothill of Mount Kenya, just outside of the town Kerugoya. This western part of Kirinyaga has some of the most fertile soils in the country, and the farms that deliver cherries to this factory are located at 1650-1800 metres above sea level. Farmers grow SL 28, SL 34, Batian, and Ruiru 11.
